From the initial call in, it was easy and flexible. The session itself was extremely informative and was not rushed; in fact, it felt very relaxed - just like a walk with someone who obviously understands dogs.  Don't change a thing!

I didn't click with our first dog trainer but A Different Dog has been very helpful,

​I've used other trainers before, but as an inexperienced dog owner, Gretta's approach, detailed explanations and non judgmental / encouraging style, made the whole process so much more beneficial and the outcomes have been great. It's already made such a difference to Max and I would thoroughly recommend 'A Different Dog' to anyone.

​I am so pleased with the work Gretta did with us and our 1yr old poodle, Buddy. Gretta made sure we understood and were happy with her advice.  We gained so much from the 5 One to One sessions that we had and are confident that, as long as we continue with what we have learnt, we will have a well behaved and happy dog. ​I just wanted to thank you for the last lesson - we’ve been working on all the things from the session and he’s doing really well.  The only negative after the lesson we had was that Ollie was DEVASTATED when you left. He was truly inconsolable for about 20-30 minutes!

I just wanted to update you. We now have a different dog who loves the boys! We continued with your advice and each day she got more and more relaxed with them until they could happily be in same room together with no barking. Gradually she has grown to love them and goes to them for pets and tickles as much as anyone else in the family. Life is so much better for all of us.  Thank you for your help as without it we may have had to send Kheera back to the rescue charity and we can’t imagine life without her now.

I can't thank you enough for your help and advice on how to help Glen. 
We've been doing the lead training as you showed and it's going really well. No tantrums. It's very relaxing and I finally feel as though I'm getting somewhere.  [Glen was a rescue dog who had spent most of his life in a dark barn, without human contact.  He was very friendly but had none of the skills he needed to be a pet dog.  His owner was super!]

I just wanted to give you an update on Demis....OMG he's a different dog! All the things you said would come...Did!  I didn't quite believe you when you said he will get it....but you were right - we had to rethink how to get the result we wanted and it worked.  Thanks Gretta for all your advice: you are amazing and I will always recommend you... if Demis can be saved, it's a testament to your skills !

We started working with Gretta from A Different Dog as we needed some help with our lovely Labradoodle Lola who did not like getting in the car or being handled by the vet.
It was so reassuring to see progress being made from the first meeting.  The final session took place at the vet practice. Lola happily bounced into the car boot (which would never have happened before the training) and, once at the vets, we were able to practise and improve her ability to be handled. Lola has made great leaps forward and, although there is still a way, to go I am delighted with her progress.  I feel I know and understand how to continue the training with Lola myself and am also confident that should I need some additional support,  I would get a prompt reply from Gretta to an email.  A Different Dog have made a huge difference to us and I would not hesitate to recommend them at all.

I would fully recommend Gretta and “A Different Dog” to anyone who is having training difficulties with their dog. My sheepdog puppy had been constantly chasing my cats and it was driving me mad, and I was constantly being told by others to punish her and it was naughty behaviour. Gretta helped me to understand that actually my poor puppy was really stressed and anxious, and she suggested a few simple adjustments to my training to help retrain her to ignore her obsessive impulses. Over the last few weeks the new training has made such an impact, and now both she and the cats are far more relaxed, even both sitting together on the sofa! Thanks to Gretta I now see my dog in a totally different way, and can use positive approaches to help guide her behaviour.
