If you've just taken on a rescue dog (whether from the UK or abroad), I can support you in helping your new addition adjust and learn essential skills for a happy and harmonious future together. 

Typical issues addressed:

  • Settling in to a new home environment
  • Sleeping issues - where?  when?  how?
  • Learning to be alone
  • ​Introductions to other dogs and people
  • Building that all-important bond and trust
  • Learning to walk on a lead 
  • Recall (coming back when called)
  • Settling/ relaxing
  • Balancing mental stimulation, exercise + rest
  • Habituation to living in a town environment​
  • Advice on avoiding problems developing
  • ​Any other training issues you want to address
I will address whatever issues are relevant for your dog and family - there is no set 'formula'!

What does a Rescue Dog Session include?

  • 90 minutes of 1:1 support at your home
  • Qualified trainer, with experience of rescue dogs
  • Individual, personalised support, tailored to you and your dog's needs and issues
  • Ethical, kind and effective training methods
  • An email follow-up to include resources (videos, websites, articles etc.) that I feel will be useful for you
  • Reduced rate, especially for new rescue dogs

I just wanted to update you. We now have a different dog who loves the boys! We continued with your advice and each day she got more and more relaxed with them until they could happily be in same room together with no barking. Gradually she has grown to love them and goes to them for pets and tickles as much as anyone else in the family. Life is so much better for all of us.  Thank you for your help as without it we may have had to send Kheera back to the rescue charity and we can’t imagine life without her now. ​

I can't thank you enough for your help and advice on how to help Glen. 
We've been doing the lead training as you showed and it's going really well. No tantrums. It's very relaxing and I finally feel as though I'm getting somewhere.  [Glen was a rescue dog who had spent most of his life in a dark barn, without human contact.  He was very friendly but had none of the skills he needed to be a pet dog.]
