It can be frustrating, annoying and downright painful to have a dog which pulls on the lead, to the extent that many people dread taking their dog out or resort to using unpleasant equipment to keep their dog 'under control'.  

​The Lead Walking Masterclass is a specialist programme consisting of three practical sessions, as well as exclusive online content, focused on building the skills that you and your dog need to master the art of walking nicely on the lead.  All of this is done by using through activities and games which are teach your dog in a kind and effective way.

To get you off to a flying start, there is guidance before you even come for the your first practical session with our online pre-masterclass activities!  The online content is in the form of videos and handy print-out tip sheets.  This means that you can access the activities at home, take in the information at your leisure and do the activities with your dog at a convenient time for you.  

​After you have had a week or two to try work on these simple activities, you will be able to put it all into practise under our expert guidance at the three, hour-long practical sessions.  The first of these classes is based indoors.  At this class, you will develop your dog's polite lead walking skills in a safe, indoor environment. In the second session, we will add further challenge and distractions before heading outside for the third session where we can 'proof' your dog's new skills in a real-life environment.

​Classes are kept very small in size (maximum of 4 dogs) so that you can get the individual, personalised help that you need with your dog.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

Pre-Class (online videos):
  • Setting out the basic principles and knowledge that you need to teach the skills
  • Equipment suggestions for lead walking
  • Fun games to develop your dog's foundation skills​
  • Training to improve your dog's responsiveness
Session 1 (indoors):
  • Indoor activities to teach your dog the skills that they need, setting them up for success 
  • Individual coaching for you and your dog 
  • Learn top tips for successful lead walking
  • Great games and activities to increase attention, engagement and focus on YOU
  • ​Online videos and tip sheets
Session 2 (indoors):
  • Further development of skills ​​and challenge
  • Learn a range of tools and strategies that you can use in the real world
  • Fun games and activities
  • Increase attention and connection between you and your dog
  • Further online content to support you
Session 3 (outdoors):
  • Putting it all together and taking the training outside into the 'real-world'
  • Real-life challenges to build your dog's skills and your confidence in handling them
  • Fun games to consolidate what you've learned
  • Online guidance to keep up your good work
